Pistachio Pesto Pizza

  • *We got all the ingredients at Trader Joes*
  • 1 Bag Plain Dough
  • 1 LB Ground Italian Sausage, browned in a pan
  • Spoonful of Grated Pecorino and Romano Parmesan Cheese Blend
  • 1 Cup Loosely Packed Basil Leaves, sliced
  • Fresh Mozzarella Balls, cut in slices
  • Homemade Pistachio Pesto (Ingredients to make below)
Pistachio Pesto:
  • 3 Cups Loosely Packed Basil Leaves
  • 1/3 Cup Grated Pecorino and Romano Parmesan Cheese Blend
  • 1/3 Cup Raw/Unsalted Pistachios
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Virgin Olive Oil
  1. Follow instructions on pizza dough bag (let it rest)
  2. Preheat oven to 500
  3. Make Pesto: place all ingredients except olive oil in a food processor or blender
  4. Blend until finely chopped
  5. While blender/processor is still on low, slowly add in olive oil
  6. Divide the dough ball into two pieces and roll out onto greased cookie sheets (make it thin)
  7. Divide pistachio pesto between the two pizzas and spread evenly
  8. Place 5 or so pieces of mozzarella on each pizza
  9. Sprinkle half of the cooked sausage on each pizza
  10. Sprinkle shredded basil on each pizza
  11. Sprinkle a spoonful of the cheese blend on each pizza
  12. Bake in oven for 10-14 mins
